Abstract: The normal principles of the magnetic fluid seal were briefly described. The effect on the pressure tight capacity for the gap of the magnetic fluid seals was studied as a focal point. When the load, the work piece finishing and assembling precision were not identical. It was known by investigation that the pressure tight capacity was not better when the gap smaller, that the capacity was worse when the gap too smaller.
